May 2014 Dividend Income
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and honored those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
With weather in May starting to be extremely nice, I haven’t been really dedicating the time I would like to towards my investments, but that is the beauty of dividend growth investing. I don’t have to baby it or check up on it regularly. It churns out money regardless of my involvement and it is ultimately a very self-sufficient machine. Though, I have been reading a lot within the dividend investing community which has been writing some really great articles lately. Check them out here.
The dividend income proves yet again to be a spectacular form of investment as it has brought in 9 differently distributed payouts for the total of $218.10. With 5 months out the year gone, I have received for a total of $941.40 so far. I mention this because I am on pace to double my dividend income this year compared to last years total of $1,116.82. It feels great to have this form of income coming in which covers most of my expenses without any actual work involved. That only gives me more time to enjoy things that really matter in life.
- AT&T, Inc. (T) – $47.81
- General Mills, Inc. (GIS) – $18.52
- Verizon Communications, Inc. (VZ) – $11.13
- American Realty Capital Properties, Inc. (ARCP) – $30.00
- Apple, Inc. (AAPL) – $13.41
- Kinder Morgan Energy Partners (KMP) – $15.42
- Procter & Gamble Co. (PG) – $25.16
- Realty Income Corp. (O) – $8.65
- Kinder Morgan, Inc. (KMI) – $48.00
Total – $218.10
Also, just noticed I also own 5 stocks from your May dividend list (GIS, AAPL, ARCP, PG and KMP) though in small quantities. I looking to add to my position in PG soon.
Glad to have you as a fellow shareholder. Those are some solid companies to own and lets hope future keeps on shining for more bounty.
Thanks for visiting.
Been a longtime reader of your blog. I started focusing more on Dividend growth investing starting this year after coming across yours and similar dividend growth blogs. My May dividends more than doubled compared to last May. Of course that was because of a low starting point, but it is still better to see the dividends grow. I am on pace to increase my 2014 dividends by at least 50% compared to last year and looking forward to reach your kinda dividend levels soon 🙂
Hello, that is great to hear. I am honored to hear kind words and that is great to hear that you starting your own journey. As yourself, it brings me great pleasure watching my dividends grow. Stay consistent and soon enough you will be reaping much greater rewards.
Great accomplishment this month. Some quality stocks, that are sure to never let you down!
Keep up the good work!
I appreciate it. Lets hope so, but no worries if one or two do become another INTC. It will be gone in a heart beat.
Thanks for stopping by.
Great month! Looks like a record for you. That’s awesome!!
That dividend income just continues to build out your snowball, turning into bigger and bigger income totals in the future. Who wouldn’t love that?
Keep it up!
Thank you. I know, it is officially summer and it is hot as hell, but that doesn’t stop this snow ball from getting any bigger, lol.
You are doing fantastic over there on your end, lets keep fighting the good fight.
Till next time.
Great month DV, this is your best month ever is it not ? You have a lot of the same stocks that I have this month and nearly the same dividend income as well. Great minds … 😮
Yes Sir it is 🙂
Absolutely we have done well for ourselves, but I still have a lot to learn and to accomplish before I can truly celebrate. For now lets stay hungry like some hungry Alaskan wolves.
Looks like another solid month of dividend income for you. On pace to double your div income in one year is a real nice thing to happen. I guess between div increases and new capital it’s fun to watch div income grow 🙂 Keep up the good work!
Thanks man, it really is motivating when I see real growth happening every other month. Dividend increases are a major confidence boosters, but investing additional capital invigorates me to save and push to greater levels.
Keep up the good work on your end.
Congratulations for a nice dividend income!
I appreciate it. Looks like you should be receiving a nice stack too. Good work on your end too.
