May 2017 Dividend Income
Another month is in the books and it is time to report another solid dividend dollar for the month of May 2017. But before that, I would like to take some time and reminisce on the extreme simplicity of this passive income model. Just think how wonderful our stock market is, a place where people can buy from large to small type and some even extremely complex businesses that share their profits with anyone that wants to buy in and be a partner. Almost a perfect sort of communist sharing system with a twist of deep capitalism spirit!
I enjoy publishing these monthly dividend income reports as I have gained a much better understanding in how much of my passive income is coming in every month and how much it is growing over time. For the month of May I have received a total of 9 diversified direct deposits in the form of dividends straight to my brokerage account. Here it is!
|AT&T, Inc. (T)||$52.33|
|General Mills, Inc. (GIS)||$22.02|
|Verizon Communications, Inc. (VZ)||$47.93|
|Procter & Gamble Co. (PG)||$27.86|
|Kinder Morgan, Inc. (KMI)||$20.45|
|Realty Income Corp. (O)||$10.24|
|STAG Industrial, Inc. (STAG)||$5.25|
|Apple, Inc. (AAPL)||$24.96|
|Costco Wholesale Corp. (COST)||$97.50|
When statistically comparing last years dividend income total from May 2016 to May 2017, it represents a positive 62.5% for a year over year increased dividend growth. A big boost to this growth came from previous VZ acquisition. Plus, COST has come through with a huge special dividend of $91.00 for the shares I own.
I will DRIP the following upcoming month: BKE, COP, JNJ, KMI, MAT, O, STAG, TROW & VFC.
The dividend income page is updated accordingly.
Thank you for reading & have a great day!
Woah woah woah, great month indeed. My wife and I are going to be headed shortly to the place that just paid you a massive special dividend. We will happily contribute to your bottom line and hopefully future special dividends to come.
Good to hear Bert, Costco is also me and my wife’s go to place. Great products at even better prices and in bulk. I believe this is the third time now that COST has paid out a special dividend and I either foresee many more or perhaps higher regular dividend raises since its payout ratio at around a very low 35%. Also, 13 years of consecutive dividend raises is not too shabby either.
Great job in getting a nice increase in dividend income from last year Div Vet and for overall getting $300+ in dividend income from last month.
Great income and nice list of paying companies. Sweet bonus from Costco!
Thanks, little by little I am building this thing into something.
Awesome! Nice jump in dividends! WTG
Much appreciated, jumping never stops, especially when fresh legs are invested on regular basis. 🙂
Great month you had. I want to buy T but would like it at $37 or $36
I do believe so myself as it just shows the power of ownership.
Passive > Active
As far as T goes, you and me together and probably thousand other Dividend Jedis.
Those are some nice results (62,5% increase!), congrats! I see we share a few stocks such as T, GIS and O. Nice to see them paying you a nice dividend as well.
Thanks, I wish I could sport that type of growth every month. I would be rocking and rolling!
Really like O at these current prices, future acquisition is in the works. Plus, the monthly dividend check is like clockwork.
Great job for the month of May. That was a huge bump compared to your 2016 total. I totally agree with you that this system for generating income is so simple and elegant. Why more people don’t jump on the DGI bandwagon is beyond me. It sure beats being a landlord. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. It was mostly COST coming through with its special dividend of $91, usually the dividend income is around a few hundred for the month, but hey, the more the merrier.
Good hearing from you.
Good job pushed you over 300 for an off month that rocks. Some good companies paying you. We share a few companies in AAPL T and O. Keep up the good work
Thanks, that special dividend came in nicely this month. I foresee many more with Costco, as it is definitely my favorite retailer.
Thanks for stopping by!
