September 2016 Dividend Income

Hundred dollar bills in dividend incomeIt is that time again to report my dividend income for the month of September 2016. These quarter months are my biggest since I receive the largest amount of dividends and the most number of direct deposits from my diversified portfolio. Actually, going back a few months, June was my all time highest dividend income month achieved and now this recent month of September is the newly crowned record keeper. How about you, what is your single biggest month of dividends received?

I enjoy publishing these monthly dividend income reports as I have gained a much better understanding in how much of my passive income is coming in every month and how much it is growing over time. For the month of September, I have received a total of 22 diversified direct deposits in the form of dividends straight to my brokerage account. The way I am going, soon enough I will have a dividend for each day of the month. Anyways, here is the list!

 Aflac, Inc. (AFL) $24.19
 ConocoPhillips (COP) $4.66
Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC) $7.98
 Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) $28.09
 Wall-Mart Stores, Inc. (WMT) $8.06
 3M Co. (MMM) $6.66
The Home Depot, Inc. (HD) $5.52
 Kellogg Co. (K) $8.84
 Realty Income Corp. (O) $9.78
 Mattel, Inc. (MAT) $18.99
 McDonald’s Corp. (MCD) $20.00
 Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.B) $41.36
 V.F. Corp. (VFC) $5.95
 BlackRock, Inc. (BLK) $9.28
 Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT) $24.93
 Waste Management, Inc. (WM) $10.95
 Public Storage (PSA) $14.40
 T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. (TROW) $6.67
Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (DLR) $35.20
 PepsiCo, Inc. (PEP) $20.39
 Travelers Companies, Inc. (TRV) $6.70
 Union Pacific Corp. (UNP) $25.26
Total $343.86

When statistically comparing last years dividend income total from September 2015 to September 2016, it represents a positive 13.0% for a year over year increased dividend growth. The growth difference from last quarter is positive 0.3% for a quarter over quarter increased dividend growth. The QoQ increase is essentially due to annual dividend raises and DRIP reinvesting for a fractional shares.

I will DRIP the following upcoming month: BKE, COP, KMI, MAT, TROW, UNP, VIAB & WFC.

The dividend income page is updated accordingly.

Hey DV, this was my biggest month as well. Purchases of more FLO helped me to a new all time monthly high. Curious what you think about WFC here as an owner. Thx for the update.

That is great news Captain! I am sure more of that coming our way over and over again.

WFC has had an interesting event here, the states such as California and Illinois is punishing the company more than the Federal Government, but either way I see this as a short term problem with high discount opportunity for such an amazing business. I am definitely a buyer and just recently enacted DRIPing my dividends on this stake. It will be very difficult to predict the bottom, but I am keeping my eye on it. That cup chart pattern will occur.

I love quarter ending months! No totals calculated yet, but I think June is going to remain my all-time record, as it looks like September dividend income is going to fall short just a little.

Congratulations on reaching a new record month of income! Keep up the good work and take care!

    Cheers

Much appreciated FerdiS, hopefully you calculate the dividends for last month and be surprised you reached a new milestone. It has happened to me a few times. Always a blessing in disguise.

      Best of luck.

Congrats on the new record month for dividend income. You have a pretty diversifies list of names paying you for the month and clearly are headed in the right direction showing a positive year over year increase. I see TRV in that list above which is still on my watch list though I may wait to buy. Thanks for sharing.

It was a record breaking month by .97 cents, over the last record in June! 😀

TRV has been a good pickup in June 2015, DG had be been great so far, would love to add more insurance type companies with boring, but consistent results.

Pleasure is all mine, take care.

Awesome to hear Dividend Dolphin! Since you are just starting out, you will see your savings that you invest compound the dividend income much faster. Keep up the good work and stay consistent, I was there a few years ago.

      All the best!

Congratulations on the new record. A 13% year-over-year gain is terrific! March 2016 has been my all time record so far…this month was about $5 short of the record. Thanks for sharing!

    • DividendVet on October 2, 2016 at 10:12

Thanks, not by a huge margin, but a record either way. I hope to continue my lazy success and let the compounding do the heavy lifting.

Always great to hear of other people’s milestones. If my math is right, you should be due for a new record here anytime soon.

      Thanks for sharing.

Glad to have you in that same boat.

      Take care.
